Our Advisory Board consists of medical professionals that have an interest in either alternative health care or in the individual services we offer.  All of our board members are highly qualified medical professionals in their prospective field and help us to provide the highest quality care available to our patients.

Timothy J. Callaghan, M.D.

Dr. Tim Callaghan is the resident physician here at Xu Wellness Center and treats patients with Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy, Allergy Easy, Prolotherapy, IV Vitamin Therapy, Injectable Vitamin Therapy, and many other traditional and alternative medical treatments.  Dr. Callaghan’s background is in both Eastern and Western medicine.  He has been a practicing Chiropractor and Acupuncturist before receiving his medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine in 2000.  He has experience in treating various diseases, including autism, ADD, and lyme disease with holistic treatments.  Dr. Callaghan studies abroad frequently in order to treat patients in third world countries with state of the art treatments such as Prolotherapy.  He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Board Eligible in Environmental Medicine.  Dr. Callaghan has a passion for helping those who have lost hope in finding the answers to their chronic health problems using both traditional and alternative medicinal treatments.

Cong (Connie) Ding

Connie Ding is a registered U.S. patent attorney with medical and life science experience.  Ms. Ding’s current work focuses on patent prosecution and counseling in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical device, and life sciences.  She received her law degree from University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, cum laude, 2009.  Before that Connie worked as a qualified medical doctor in China, and has conducted clinical trial research in Beijing, before pursuing her M.S. in cell and molecular biology in the United States at Michigan State University.  She has extensive research experience in molecular biology and pharmaceutical sciences and has conducted research ranging from gene isolation, expression and characterization, to drug toxicity studies.  Ms. Ding is a published researcher and co-authored an article, in 2010, for the journal of Clinical Pharmacological Therapy.  Esteemed journals, such as Nature Genetics (2003) and Blood (2005) have acknowledged her work in clinical research.  Her research projects include, but are not limited to, gene expression associated with response of leukemia to chemotherapy (2004), transcription factor expression in prostate cancer (2001), and rat brain motor function study (2000).  Ms. Ding is also an ad hoc reviewer of the peer-reviewed journal Chinese Medicine of Biomedical Central

Mark L. Hammond, M.D.

Dr. Mark Hammond is a physician in Memphis with 28 years experience in Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Long Term Care, and Hospice Care.  He graduated from Rhodes College and The University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences.

He has been in private practice in Shelby County since 1986 specializing as a hospitalist with interests in geriatric, nursing home, and hospice medicine.  He has served as a Medical Director for numerous long term care and hospice agencies.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Tennessee Health Management.

Dr. Hammond has been interested in alternative and complimentary modalities both for his patients and in his own health and sees acupuncture as a potentially huge benefit in his patient population.

Guy V. Teach, M.D.

Dr. Guy Teach is an internist in Covington, Tennessee and is affiliated with Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis and Saint Francis Park Hospital-Memphis. He received his medical degree from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and has been in practice for 19 years. He specializes and is board certified in Internal Medicine.  Dr. Teach is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Christine Malone, PhD

Dr. Malone has been helping individuals and families in various capacities since 1991, beginning as a counselor and Psychological Examiner.  From there, she completed a Master of Science degree in Psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology.  She has been in private practice since 1994, and she also was contracted with Parkwood Hospital for 17 years to provide psychological testing and therapy for the preadolescent, adolescent and adult units.  She has had experience with all psychological issues, including depression disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, trauma and abuse, dissociative disorders, alcohol and drug issues, marriage and family counseling, personality disorders, Christian counseling, and child and adolescent issues (e.g., behavior issues, parenting, bullying, self esteem, cutting, peer relationship issues, learning disabilities, etc.).  Dr. Malone is continually pursuing areas of growth and change for herself, her family and her private practice.  She has a passion for nutrition, exercise, and natural treatment of physical and emotional issues.  Dr. Malone sees clients in Cordova, TN.  She offers caring, competent, professional therapy services as a means to meet the goals you have for your life.  She approaches life from a Christian worldview.  Dr. Malone is eager to meet with you whatever your concerns may be.
