Yoga Tai Chi Class

Tai Chi

Warm ups and stretches, Qi Gong exercises, walking drills and the 24 posture Yang Tai Chi form. Tai chi is a low-impact moving meditation exercise, when practiced regularly will increase muscle tone, balance, flexibility and coordination.

Originally a martial arts system, today is practiced for health and vitality. Tai chi is good for the whole body including the joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments, circulation and the heart.  For all levels and ages.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa yoga means linking the breath and movement with a flowing series of yoga postures.

Start with warming up the body then working strength in longer holds, cardio in a vinyasa flow, next flexibility and ending with cooling postures. Work the entire body, mind and spirit with this balanced yoga practice.

Bio

Jennifer

Jennifer White has been practicing yoga since 1994 when she began her journey with a home practice learning from among others, her favorites Patricia Walden and Rodney Yee. In 2000 she stepped into the yin wu ting (training hall) at Bei Shaolin Kung Fu Institute and began her martial arts training under Master Kevin Miller in Memphis, TN and Grandmaster Andrew Lee close to where she grew up, in Chicago, IL.

Under their guidance she also began practicing Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Nei Gong and Wing Chun in 2002. She now is a Black Belt Candidate in Shaolin Kung Fu as she has completed two of three required tests to be an official, certified black belt. So she continues to practice and serves as an Assistant Instructor at Bei Shaolin in Memphis, while traveling up to Chicago regularly to get corrections from Master Lee.

After years of feeling that she was missing the secret ingredient to take her yoga practice further, in 2014 Jen went through her first Yoga Teacher Training with LifePower Yoga and received her RYT-200 certification in Ashtanga (one hour primary series), vinyasa, hot yoga, slow burn, yin and roots (beginners) yoga. Currently she is teaching at the YMCA Schilling Farms and Lifetime Fitness in Collierville, TN, Hot Yoga Plus in Germantown, and the Xu Wellness Center in Cordova.

She hopes to spread the knowledge of the healing arts and make them accessible to more people for the health and benefit to allthe earth’s beings.

Jennifer is a member of Yoga Alliance.
